Things that make me go hmmmm.....
OK, as some of you know I go to Denny's every Wednesday at 6 in the morning to meet with a group of friends. We decided, as a group, to read through the Bible through the year. I am enthused about this because I despise reading, yet I have enjoyed reading God's word better than I used too. I also have been reading His word a lot closer.....a lot. Doing that has brought out some things I haven't noticed before. Here are a couple things that make me go hmmmm.
1. Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created Him;" a few chapters later we read Adam's geneaology in Genesis 5:3 "When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image;" I am not sure what all that means, but it makes me wonder....since Adam brought sin into this world are we still God's image? I don't know, I just wonder....hmmmm.
2. Also in Chapter 5 it says things such as "Adam lived 930 years and then he died." It does this for each of Adam's descendents until we get to Enoch, who is the great grandfather of Noah, then in verse 24 it says "Enoch walked with God; then he was not more, because God took him away." Enoch did not die. Can you imagine how amazing his walk with God was? He is only mentioned one other time in the Bible...Hebrews 11:5...there it talks about his faith....To be that close to God....I wish I knew more about Enoch....hmmmm.
3. Last, but not least, in the account of Noah, God tells Noah to get clean and unclean animals and put them on the ark...after the flood Noah builds an altar and sacrifices a clean animal. The thing that got me was that how did Noah know what was clean and unclean since God didn't make it public until Moses puts it down.....the same with sacrificing clean animals on the altar. I wonder if God told them about or if it was just natural to give back to God....the odor going to the "heavens." I wish I know more.....hmmmmm.
I know these are not life changing revelations, just what I found interesting so far. I hope that I learn more as I read more...comments welcome. hmmmmm....

Hi Frankie,
My comment really has nothing to do with this post... although I think you're very cool for reading the Bible through. That's my goal for this year as well. And I haven't even fallen behind yet!! (oh wait, it's only Jan. 6th).
Anyway, let's get back to business. Please tell Melanie that I'm getting very concerned about you and this smurf business. I know a good shrink in your area that I could refer you to. They have meds. for those things... believe me, we've all taken them... haha. Have a smurfy day! (uhh... I think it's contagious). hehehe.. <>< K.Vo.
